In Art...
Our students are continuing to work on...
Kindergarten: We are focusing on Spring themed artwork, fine motor skills, the art elements and principles, such as: line, shape, color, pattern, and texture.
1st and 2nd grade: We are working on Spring themed projects that focus on art vocabulary that will be assessed such as: color families, symmetry, art tools and subject matter.
3rd grade: We are learning about focal point and color families: monochromatic, and value.
4th grade: This term we are learning about one of the many FCPS Master Artists including Andy Warhol.
5th grade: Each class is doing something a bit different with the focus on exploratory art and writing artist statements.
In Music...
Second grade is also exploring musical forms and will continue to learn about instrument families and tone color. First grade and kindergarten students are exploring rhythms, tone color, continuing to practice using classroom instruments, and adding to our repertoire of musical songs and games,
The Spring Chorus is sounding great! We look forward to our concert on May 11th! We also have information about the Frederick Children's Chorus - if any of our singers in grades 2-5 would be interested in receiving information about this ensemble, please email your child's music teacher.
In P.E...
This month in P.E. students will be working on striking, rolling, and teamwork. Students will practice the skills that are needed in the game of volleyball and will be assessed on their striking. Students will be assessed on the skill of rolling while participating in our bowling unit.
