August 17 is Meet the Teacher Day

Meet the Teacher Day is one of the most exciting days of the year for our students. We set this time aside so that you can bring your 2021-2022 Tigers to school to meet their new teachers, see where their classrooms are located, and store away school supplies.

Our Meet the Teacher Day Stations are shown in our "passport." Be sure to check off each station as you work your way through them!

School supplies purchased from Schoolkidz will be delivered to your child's homeroom classroom and be available for them to unpack on August 17. School supplies lists can be found on the West Cypress Hills Elementary website.

In advance of our Meet the Teacher Day, you will be sent an email providing the name of your Tiger's homeroom teacher.

Because our kindergarten students usually need a little extra time to look around and unpack their supplies, kindergarten teachers will provide a specific time in their welcome email for you to arrive on Meet the Teacher Day, which will be sometime between 9 and 11 am.

Our Meet the Teacher Day Schedule is:

Kindergarten: Your Scheduled Arrival Time will be included in an email from your teacher and will be sometime between 9:00 am and 11:00 am.

12:30 pm until 1:15 pm................1st Grade and 3rd Grade

1:30 pm until 2:15 pm.................2nd Grade and 4th Grade

2:30 pm until 3:15 pm.................5th Grade

Still Accepting New Student Enrollments!

New to LTISD?

Welcome to the Lake Travis Independent School District. The 2021-22 school year will be here before we know it, and the West Cypress Hills staff is busy planning for next year. While there are still some unknowns, one thing is for certain! New and returning TIGERS will be welcomed on August 18.

Incoming Kindergarteners and students in any grade level who are new to the Lake Travis Independent School District will need to enroll to attend school at West Cypress Hills. For your convenience, enrollment packets can be completed online here. However, if you do not have access to a computer, hard copies of the enrollment packet are also available for pick up at the school. Just phone us at 512-533-7500 to arrange to pick up the paper packet.

West Cypress Hills has the most amazing staff, and we want to continue to hire the most highly qualified candidates. And, that means that the enrollment process is very important. Because staffing allocations are based on our enrollment numbers, we need to have accurate enrollment numbers moving into the fall in order to appropriately staff our grade levels.

I look forward to meeting you in person soon. With warmest regards,

Melanie Beninga

Principal, West Cypress Hills Elementary School

For Tigers Returning to WCHE in August....

Parents, we had anticipated that we'd be asking (as of July 26) for confirmation that your child(ren) will return to West Cypress Hills in August, and that request for your confirmation is forthcoming.

It will soon be time for our WCHE returning students to confirm the plan to return in Skyward, and we will let you know when we are ready to begin collecting that information. Thanks for your patience!

How will your Tiger(s) go home at the end of the day?

Please take a moment to tell us how your child(ren) will go home at the end of the school day.
