Happy New Year!

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday break with your family, loved ones, and friends. While it was difficult for the children to return after such a long break, they transitioned back into learning with ease!

Have you checked out @FernHillES on twitter lately? If so, you saw that our second grade students made 'snowman soup' for our local first responders! Thanks to the West Goshen Police Department and the Fire Police, our four second grade classrooms walked to WG Police Department and The Good Fellowship to deliver notes of gratitude and their snowman soup. It was a great learning opportunity for our second grade students to learn the importance of showing appreciation...and they loved walking with a police escort as if they were in their own parade!

We look forward to a great rest of the school year and a fantastic 2020!

Reminder! Only a few days until BINGO !! The 5:30pm slot is SOLD OUT but we have some room left in the 7pm time slot!!! Please see info below and return the form ASAP! Reservations are required! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Interested in coaching Girls On The Run or STRIDE?

Is your child in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade? If so, you might want to consider volunteering your time to coach Girls on the Run (for girls) and STRIDE (for boys)? The YMCA facilitates this clubs, but they need parent volunteers to host them at the various schools.

Girls on the Run uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health.

STRIDE is a fun fitness and running program for boys where they will have the chance to share their thoughts and opinions about various life topics in a safe, encouraging environment that helps them develop character.

If you are interested in starting one of these clubs at Fern Hill, please contact Mrs. Melanie Olsen (
