LCCAA partners annually with Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority to distribute free winter coats to children in need. LCCAA Head Start families also receive coats. In 2020, thanks to the federal CARES act in response to the COVID-19 crisis this program has greatly expanded. Beginning Nov. 2, 2020, coats are available to any low-income Lorain County child while supplies last! Due to COVID-19, we will offer contactless pick up at the LCCAA Bike Shop, 204 W. 10th St., Lorain., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment. NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES CAN BE MADE. Coats run small - please order the next size up. If we are out of the size you request, we will give you the next size up. You must complete BOTH of these forms to receive your coat! Coat Order Form - complete and submit electronically (If you have more than three children, submit additional forms.) CSBG Form - download and bring with you to pick up (Only one needed per household.) This is because we have multiple funders with different requirements making the program possible. Thank you. Questions should be directed to Client Services Coordinator Amy Steele at 440-204-3121 or asteele@lccaa.net. Happy Holidays to All of the Copopa Families!
I received the following valuable information:
OhioKAN is a new statewide flexible and responsive kinship and adoption navigator program designed to assist children, caregivers, families. We are here to help kinship and adoptive families navigate and connect with all of the resources available to them, both locally and statewide.
One of the great things about the program is that it is available to both formal and informal kinship families – whether a children’s service organization is involved or not. As a former school district staff member, I encountered many families who ran into barriers with school enrollment, etc. due to custody-related issues. OhioKAN is here to help connect kinship and adoptive families to services throughout Ohio.
I am happy to schedule short calls or virtual conversations to share more information.
