Kindness Week
Join us in spreading care and compassion during Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 12th-16th. Corron will be focused on making the world a little better, one small act of kindness at a time, in partnership with the organization Random Acts Matter. There is no better way to help your neighbor than to do something unexpected! This is the simple idea behind the formation of Random Acts Matter. You can find more information here.
We will “Paint Corron Orange” on Friday, February 16th. The color orange represents kindness as it combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. Therefore, all students are encouraged to wear orange to celebrate making a difference in the world!
February 29th Conferences
On Thursday, February 29th, all elementary students in D303 will have a half-day of school due to our Spring parent-teacher conferences. These conferences serve a different purpose than our Fall goal-setting conferences. Spring conferences provide teachers the opportunity to connect with families of students that currently need additional support in some area. The February 29 conferences have a much shorter time frame of 12:30 to 3:20. This means that teachers will only be able to meet with a few families that afternoon. Your child’s teacher will be sending a letter home with either a request to meet or a message stating that a conference is not necessary at this time.
Due to the 11:30 dismissal, students will not have lunch at school that day. All classrooms will take a snack break at some point in the morning.
The District 303 Board has approved boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools. Maps are effective with the 2024-2025 school year beginning this fall. The Board's decision completes a process that began last fall to reduce school overcrowding and help to ensure equitable learning experiences across the District. District 303 had contracted with demographer RSP & Associates to create concept maps based on Board-approved guiding principles and community feedback. Please see the parent notice from Superintendent Gordon to learn more and review the approved maps.
