How did the change impact society at the time? (short term effects)

People started to go against the Catholic and they became protestant. Martin Luther was excommunicated from the Catholic church and the Holy Roman Empire. He created a religious group named Lutherans.

How is that change seen in today's modern society? (long term effects)

The Catholic church has stopped all of the indulgences and they have put the bible in other languages and they teach people the true words in the bible.
