Hello Parents of Anthem,

Welcome to week two with All Things E.Q. The motto this week in school is:

Are my thoughts helping me or hurting me?


Awareness is usually the first step to being able to answer that question. When students become aware of their thinking, they begin to understand that their thinking can make their day better or worse.

Our thoughts are powerful. In many ways, they are the narrator of our life. To help your child check in on their thinking and determine if their thoughts are helping them or hurting them, you can ask these questions:
  1. "What do you think today will be like?"
  2. “Is the day you are expecting, one you want to have?”
  3. “Can you picture a better day happening?”
  4. “What can you do today to help make the day you want possible?”
When our kids become aware of their thoughts and judgments, they can
steer their thoughts in order to make the most of their day and experiences.

Donations of old smart phones needed

If you have an old smart phone (iPhone or Android) we could use it! We are building a Maker Space where students use a variety of hi and low technology tools to explore and learn. The phones would be used with our VR goggles to go on expeditions and adventures.
