6th Grade students are invited to a Winter Glowland!
There is no cost to attend this event, but there will be candy for sale for $1 each.
All students are to be picked up promptly in the carpool line by 6:00 p.m. Students who normally walk home will need to be picked up in carpool as well.

AMMS PTA Needs Your Help for the Holidays!
We need your help! It’s the time of year when we give thanks, and the teachers and staff at AMMS do an amazing job! Let’s thank them for all their hard work.
We would like to give the teachers and staff a thank you of at least two $10 gift cards. Some popular gift cards they have enjoyed in the past include: Target, Starbucks, Amazon, Macy's, Publix/Kroger, Chick Fil A and other restaurants...GET CREATIVE! Please consider donating one or more $10 gift cards to show the AMMS staff how much we appreciate them!
The front office will collect the gift cards. The collection dates will run 11/4/19 - 12/10/19.

Final Exams - Important Information
- Final exams will be cumulative for 7th & 8th grade. For the high school classes, the final exam is 20% of the semester average.
- Final exams cannot be retaken if failed.
- If a student is not present for the week of exams, he/she will receive a zero on the final exam until it is made up.
- No student will be able to take an exam before December 17th.
- Students should report to the front office to take missed exams on Friday, January 3rd (during the teacher workday) at 9:00 a.m.
- For students who will be present the week of exams, but who cannot be present for a particular exam, please contact the teacher to make other arrangements.


All 6th Grade & New Student Parents Technology Meeting
ATTENTION ALL 6TH GRADE & NEW STUDENT PARENTS!
Join us on Wednesday, December 11th, at 9:00 am - 11:00 a.m. for a 6th Grade PTA-PARENT Technology Workshop. New parents at AMMS are welcome to join!
We will be discussing 1:1 personalized learning, technology tools for learning, and taking a tour of 6th grade classes in action.

Thanksgiving Food Drive Huge Success!
Thank you to all who donated to our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive supporting North Fulton Community Charities. This year, we collected a total of 1,808 Thanksgiving-related items for donation to local families to make a holiday meal. We are so appreciative of your support.

AMMS Tech Fair Winners
We are so proud of the students below for coming in 1st place for their grade level at our AMMS Tech Fair! These students will move on to the county competition on December 14th. If you see them, please congratulate them and wish them luck at county.

Holiday Gift Drive for Interact Club
The Interact Club is sponsoring a toy drive to benefit children in the North Fulton Community. We will be collecting toys in the front rotunda through Friday, December 6th. All students who donate a new unwrapped toy will receive a small treat and be entered in our daily drawing for a $5 gift card, donated by the North Fulton Johns Creek Rotary. Students who donate a toy will also be entered into the drawing at the end of the toy drive for the grand prize, which will be free seating at lunch for 2 days.
There will be 2 winners from each grade level for the free seating prize. All toys donated will be given to North Fulton Community Charities to benefit children in our local community this holiday season.

HOSA
AMMS is happy to offer our Future Health Professionals student organization again this year. AMMS HOSA students competed and placed at the International Leadership Conference in both 2018 and 2019! HOSA students have served our school by filling and distributing our red safety bags to each classroom, completing STOP THE BLEED training, as well as hosting several doctors as guest speakers. Our award winning HOSA students have been featured in the AJC newspaper and will be in an upcoming edition of My Alpharetta Magazine!
AMMS would like to invite any students with a desire to learn more about a future in health careers or emergency medicine to join HOSA. Students are welcome to participate in the club regardless of their desire to take their skills to the competitive level. Student may join google classroom for more details. Student membership fees are $50, including both state and national HOSA affiliation, testing fees and student t-shirts. Email our advisor Mrs. Terry if you have questions: TerryL@fultonschools.org

Basketball - Boys & Girls
Both teams will be coached by Coach Dustin Owens owensd@fultonschools.org
The last information meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 4th in D109, Mr. Owen's room.
It will last approximately 10 minutes. No parents need attend.
Tryouts
Boys- Monday, December 9th & Wednesday, December 11th
Girls- Tuesday, December 10th (and maybe Thursday the 12th depending on numbers)
Fulton County policy dictates that only 7th and 8th graders may participate in extramural sports. As a result, 6th graders will not be allowed to tryout. There is one boys' team and one girls' team for the school
Community News
Atlanta Dance Theatre
Atlanta Dance Theatre is excited to stage our 38th season. We kick off our performances with visions of sugar plums in the timeless tradition of The Nutcracker, artfully choreographed by Shelley Grames. The spring brings an exciting performance of Aladdin, choreographed by Kassandra Taylor Newberry. Our remarkable group of ADT dancers, complemented by the high caliber, professional guest artists, Jonah Hooper, Nick Hagelin, Lonnie Davis, Robert Chabot, Erick Jackson, Eric Nash and Katherine Ricardo, never cease to amaze us with their collective athleticism and artistry.
We hope you enjoy our 2019-2020 season. We welcome new dancers and patrons to be a part of our growing “ADT family”.
