FRIDAY, MAY 22: End of School Year Celebration

Kool & The Gang - Celebration (Official Video)
After this school year, we all DESERVE a little bit of party! Join us this Friday, May 22 from 11 am - 1 pm for a social distanced end of year celebration.

Come grab some special goodies, an ice cream treat, and wave "see ya later" to your favorite classroom teachers and ACS staff members!

We will do this drive through style, so everyone can remain safe but still feel a little connected!

Summer Reading Lists (and Packets)

Big picture
We want to make sure our kiddos are ready for next year; and, with a WHOLE summer off (after an interesting Spring at home), we want to make sure our kids don't lose all of the progress they've made this year.

This Friday, May 22, we will be sending home a summer reading list FOR ALL STUDENTS! You will want to make sure that each book is read (and you can capture that info in a reading log)! There are prizes to be won for those who fully participate and read every book on their list!

In addition, some teachers have decided to send home summer packets. This will allow students the opportunity to practice skills from this year, so they are ready to go next year! If you have questions about these materials, please reach out directly to the teacher! These will be available for pickup on Friday May 22 from 11 am - 1 pm; if you are unable to pickup, we will mail all of the materials!

Technology Drop Off: BY JUNE 5

Big picture
Since the school year has come to an end, we will be collecting all technology from students/families; this includes: tablets, tablet cases, laptop computers, and hotspots.

Please return all items to the school by June 5!

You can drop on any Friday between 11 am - 1 pm. So, this Friday, May 22; Friday, May 29 or Friday, June 5!

If you have any damage to the device, please do say something at drop off! And, if you are unable to drop off at any of these times, reach out to Ashley, and we will make arrangements for a pickup!

Food during the Summer

Big picture
We WILL continue to pass out food during the summer. You may pickup on Fridays from 11 am - 1 pm.

Until further notice, please stay in your car, in a line, in front of the church, and we will bring everything to your car.

School Mascot: YOUR VOTE

After a full year of school, we finally have a clearer picture of who we are as an ACS family. And, with that, we are ready to match our school identity with a mascot: something that breaths who we are!

Our staff has talked (really debated) about what makes the most sense; and we've narrowed our options down to three animals: the panther, the raven, or the wolf! And now, we need your help! Help us decide what animal will represent us, as a people! Vote here (it's one quick question) and we will announce the winner the week of June 5!

Once we decide, a group of students will have the opportunity to actually draw our mascot (pictures above are just to give you an idea)!

Farewell to Mr. Redding

Big picture
It is with heavy heart that we share Mr. Redding (our most wonderful Kindergarten teacher) will not be returning to ACS this year. As some of you may know, he moved all the way across the country (without his family in tow) because he believed so much in the school. However, it's been a bit harder to be that far away from family; and therefore, Mr. Redding will be moving back to Atlanta at the end of the year.

We are so grateful for all that he has contributed to our school community; and he will forever be a part of the ACS family!
