Alexander Calder Artist Study
Elizabeth Haddon students have been learning about the life and work of artist Alexander Calder. We read his biography, Sandy's Circus, and created our very own art gallery in the library with art inspired by this Philadelphia-born artist.
Rocket Collaboration
Fifth Grade students Asher and Evan work together to create a wire sculpture of a rocket.
Sandy's Circus
Students read the biography of Alexander Calder and were inspired by his wire sculptures.
Houston...
...we have no problem. Nino creates a wire sculpture of a headset!

Digital Book Talks
Our book talks* are going digital! When students finish reading a book, they can share their recommendations with other students by recording a video. The video will feature your child sharing a book talk (including genre, characters, and brief summary) about a book they have recently read. Students will also share why they recommend it. The video will be encoded into a QR code and posted in our library for all to use. Our digital book talks will encourage other students to try new genres and series.
(*Book talks are voluntary, but SO much fun! These videos will only be used in our EH library.)
Thank you Class of 2014!
A big thanks to the 5th Grade Class of 2014 for donating books to the EH library. Look for the special "shout out" dedications in each book. What great additions to our school library!
