OTTER OUTLOOK
NOVEMBER 12 - NOVEMBER 19, 2021
Happy fall, Otters!
With the holidays approaching I’m always reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Olson is an outstanding school full of great students, committed teachers, involved parents, and an awesome PTA! I am truly grateful to serve as principal of this campus.
This time of year is so much fun and always busy. Our fifth graders are headed to camp on Monday, we have a Swim Up and early release day on Friday, and then before you know it, it will be time for our Peppermint Village school store and then Winter Class Parties. This year our class parties will be on Thursday, December 16th and limited to students and room parents.
I hope that everyone is enjoying our wonderful fall weather, and making great memories with your families.
Happy Fall, Ya’ll!
Susanne Miller, Principal

Thank you!!!
"COMMITTMENT TO COMMUNITY"
Please join Olson in Commitment to Community Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting families in Allen! We are collecting nonperishable food items for families in our community that would not otherwise have food during Thanksgiving. We will be collecting all the items that a family would need to enjoy a meal and each other: canned corn, green beans, peas, yams, cranberry sauce, pie filling, stuffing mix, gravy mix, cornbread mix, potato flakes, mac and cheese, box pie crust mix, dessert mix and foil pans.
Please bring your donations to your school between Wednesday, November 3rd – Tuesday, November 16th. The collection table is located by the stairs closest to the front office.
Your kindness and generosity help bring joy families in our community. We appreciate you support in helping our community!

The Character Trait for the month of November is Citizenship!
Citizenship is defined as the qualities that a person is expected to have as a responsible member of a community. We demonstrate our citizenship by showing respect, honesty, compassion, courage, etc.
Good citizens are willing to learn, work hard, protect the environment, help others, respect people and property, and are considerate. Each of us are members of multiple communities – home, school, local community, and digitally.
This month, talk to your children about how they can be good citizens in the different areas, as well as have them provide examples. Also discuss with them their rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
RISE & SHINE: MORNING ARRIVAL AT OLSON
Way to go, parents, on getting your kiddos to school on time! Our number of tardies has decreased significantly. As a reminder, students arriving after the bell rings at 7:45 am will need to be signed in by a parent/guardian at the office.
In addition, please do not drop-off your student before 7:30 am. We do not have staff available to supervise until 7:30. Thank you!
