NEW LEBANON SCHOOL
Weekly Updates

Happy Friday, Bobcat Families! We had yet another action packed week filled with learning, celebration, and excitement at New Lebanon School. First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to our PTA, Liz Rutledge, and all of our teachers for supporting our annual Boosterthon and participating in our GLOW RUN! Our students were abuzz with energy and joy, and we raised over $16,000 as a school. ALL of this money comes directly back into the school to support curriculum enrichment, field trips, and in-school opportunities. Thank you all!
Our Theater Club Performances this past week were a fabulous celebration of learning that has taken place this winter after school. Thank you to Ms. Pugliano and all of the teachers who support our after school efforts. We were thrilled to see so many families in attendance. Also this past week, our 5th Grade traveled to the Greenwich Historical Society and our 4th grade had an in-school art residency. WOW! That about sums it up!
If you are celebrating holidays this week and/or weekend, best wishes. For everyone, please enjoy a wonderful vacation week filled with rest and relaxation! Important updates are below...
IB Learner Profile Attribute for the Month of April: Balanced
The IB Learner Profile Balance aims to develop learners who are balanced. Our goal is to allow students to discover and understand the importance of balancing different aspects of their lives. Focusing on the intellectual, physical, and emotional in order to achieve well being for themselves and others. We would like for our students to recognize their interdependence with other people and with the world in which they live.
How can families help develop students who are Balanced at home?
~Create a daily schedule that includes time for school work, outside physical activity, arts and music, rest, balanced meals.
~Allow time for a variety of activities daily with your children (school activities, indoor play, outside play, active play and quiet activities)
~Model doing a little bit of everything in front of your child: play, learn, exercise, rest, eat healthy foods
~Praise your child for demonstrating a balance lifestyle
~Visit many different places to learn: libraries, museums, nature trails and nature preserves, parks - maybe they newly renovated Bruce Museum!
~Explore different hobbies that are of interest to you and your family: yoga, jogging, knitting, cards, marbles, collecting stickers, nature walks

This year, we offer tutoring options in literacy or math for invited families who opt out of the full-day program. In addition to our academic support programs, we will hold Advanced Bridge Courses for middle school math students looking to accelerate their learning and Credit/Credit Recovery courses for GHS students.
Invited students will be notified by Saturday, April 1st via Parent Link. Families will be able to register using Family ID; links are provided in invitation letters. All registrations are due by Friday, May 19th for K-8 students.
More information regarding programming times, course descriptions, and registration can be found on the Greenwich Summer School Website.
