Dear Mason Families,
If you would have told me several months ago that our world would change this drastically over the course of a few weeks, I probably would have found it hard to imagine that even being a possibility. This morning, the governor mandated a Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order that will go into effect tonight at midnight. As you can imagine, this may cause a multitude of emotions to surface not only for students but for adults too. Let's continue doing the following:
Remain Calm- Our learners are watching us and counting on us to show them how to navigate our ever-changing world.
Find the positive/good- Look for ways to find the positive in having more family time or opportunities to learn outside the normal school structure. It is so easy to find the negative in situations, let's look a little deeper and find the positive.
Prioritize your social and emotional wellbeing- Be present for one another. Call your neighbors, friends and family just to say hi! Continue to do whatever you can to stay connected while staying in your home. Structure gives students (and some adults) a sense of comfort and provides predictability. Make a plan with your family that focuses on learning and addressing your social and emotional needs as a family.
Repeat after me.... We got this!
If you need anything at all. Please don't hesitate to reach out for support! Thanks for being awesome! You are more than enough and I am inspired by each and every one you!
