The great awakening attracted people of different classes and races.Women,members of minority groups, and poor people often took part in services. Women in particular welcomed the message of the Great Awakening.Many women sought spiritual renewal around the time of childbirth.They were imtrested in part because their lives were at risk during this time. One woman explained that her faith "would wear off again and till the time of the first lying in |Labor|; and then I was brought to the very brink of eternity
