The Sahara is bordered by the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The Sahara has one of the harshest climates in the world.You can walk the path of ancient traders on camel back.

Mountains are a barrier between the climates in the Mediterranean and the Sahara Desert. The mountains are full of minerals and have important farmlands and forests. These mountains are a great place to hike if you are visiting Africa.
Congo River
The Congo River is also called the Zaire River. This river is one of the longest rivers in the world. It is nearly 2,720 miles long and 4 to 10 miles wide. The Congo river has many islands and sandbars. It has a constant flow and is Africa's largest source for hydroelectric power. Its wonderful to go rafting.
Indian Ocean
The Indian Ocean is the the third largest ocean in the world. The average depth is 11,000 feet. A great rift valley extends along most of the oceans length. If you are ever near the Indian ocean you should definitely go surfing.
