Ireland Elementary School

No School - Monday, January 20th
Stay warm, and we will see your child on Tuesday!
Riley Week - Super Successful!
New Procedures!
No parent will be permitted beyond the office unless they sign-in during all school hours.
- If you bring your child into school in the morning, they can be dropped off by the office instead of walking them all the way into the gym.
- If you help your child bring in treats, the office staff will take those and give to the classroom teacher instead of parents helping to take them to the classroom.
- If you would like to eat breakfast or lunch with your child, please sign in at the office.
Drop-off Safety
- This is not the first time communicating this out.
- No car is allowed to pass in the drop-off line for any reason.
- No student is allowed to cross the county road on their own. If you want to park and escort your child to the front of the building, that is allowed. The parking lot is NOT a drop-off location.
- The front of the school is for bus traffic only. You may park and walk in your child, but by no means are you allowed to pull up and drop off in the front of the school in the morning.
- If drop-off stresses you out, please change your schedule to arrive a little earlier. Our doors open at 7:10 and congestion doesn't occur until 7:35.
- If any individual/vehicle doesn't obey by those rules, school resource officers will be handling those cases. School safety will ALWAYS remain the priority.
Sensory Stations - Need your help!
In all of this new learning, our school would like to build SENSORY STATIONS for ALL classrooms. Our students have been researching items that might be beneficial for this station. We have some grant money to build a sensory room later in the year, but we need a few items donated to build sensory stations for each classroom.
If you would like to help us build those stations, please see this Amazon link. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3W0P2S4ZZFIHX?ref_=wl_share
You can purchase for our school straight from this link, and it will get shipped directly to us.
Please view the following video to understand more about the benefits and usage of a sensory station. (Please note, the video uses the verbiage peace corrner, but we will be calling ours sensory station.)
We appreciate your support!

Have you ever thought of being a substitute teacher? If so, we NEED you!
It's almost Thanksgiving! It's almost Christmas! Every year we scurry to make a difference in disadvantaged children's lives during the holidays. Toys, clothes, and food are all wonderful things to give children, but most of all... our children need role models.
We need people with a calling to serve others in our schools daily. Substitutes are needed who truly desire to make an impact in children's lives. It's more difficult than cutting a check or cleaning out a closet, but your interaction with students might be the relationship that points a child toward a beautiful life.
Please consider giving the most impacting gift that you can this year... yourself. If you feel moved to help our students, please contact the central office at (812)482-1801.

Accelerated Reader - Home Connect
Their username is their short number and their long number is their password - your child will know this information!
Volunteers!
Anyone who would like to volunteer at school or chaperone a field trip must submit a background check. Once this is done, it is good as long as your child is a student at Ireland. If you aren't sure if you have completed one, your child's teacher can look it up for you. Background Check Link
