One of our goals this year for the Junior High and High School is to increase our attendance. Each week, we’ll take a look at our attendance data. Remember, research has proven that regular attendance at school is directly related to achievement!

2014-2015 (so far): 92.7%

This link to the Department of Public Instruction's website gives parent information on what and when your student will be tested. This site gives a really great overview on what you can expect, and what, in part, contributes to the school's report card.
Scholastic Thanksgiving Activities:
Scholastic's website offers a list of 22 Thanksgiving activities that are fun and help your student learn. Activities like these also cut the boredom that you may experience on a blustery Fall day.

1:1 Meeting Information:
View this document to learn more about when and where parents of 7th graders will meet regarding the new 1:1 iniatative. This meeting will take place November 18th & 20th to inform parents about the laptops their students will receive in December.
Book of the Week: "The Hiding Place"
Recipe of the Week: Pecan Crusted Tilapia
4 6 oz boneless tilapia filets
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp adobo seasoning
2 Tbsp cold butter
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
Arrange fish on a baking sheet. In a bowl, combine pecans, seasoned salt, chili powder, and adobo seasoning. Cut the butter into 6 equal parts. Place one pat a piece directly on the length of the tilapia. Cut remaining 2 pats into pea-sized pieces and mix by hand into the pecan mixture. Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the fish. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
