The Eiffel Tower

A big tower in Paris!

About the Eiffel tower:

The Eiffel tower is located on Champ de Mars in Paris. The tower is named like this because the engineer is named Gustave Eiffel. He started in 1887 and was completed in 1889. The Eiffel tower is the most recognized stuctures in the world. It is the tallest structure in Paris, and the second in France. The tower measures 324 meters, or 1,036 feet tall. In french you say La Tour Eiffel. In Spanish, in French, and in English yo say Eiffel and write it the same. The Eiffel tower came to be one of the tallest structures. Down I put some pictures of the Eiffel Tower. The tower weighs a massive 10.100 ton. Every seven years the tower is painted and it takes between 15-18 months. It requires like 60 tons of paint. The tower was originally planed to be in Barcelona for Universal Exposition in 1888. Then they changed it to Paris because it was too expensive and strange. Then they made it in Paris for the universal exposition in 1889, and it was approved. The tower is made of metal. Only one man was killed during the construction. Some people call the Eiffel tower the Iron Lady. During the construction also people protested. One famous nobvelist that hated the tower but still went to the restaurant wrote a quote of it. Paris was going to take out the tower because of its haters. Passed the time people started to like the bulding. But now everybody likes the building. During the second world war french took out the elevator so Hitler could not take the 1665 steps. When French had the liberty the Eiffel tower became symbol of freedom because of the French flag sheet they hang. I recomend to visit the tower by night. At night they turn 20.000 light balls. It would be fun to go to Paris. I invite you to a brunch!
