Journal Entry
Today is August 23 1973 and President Salvador Allende has promoted me to Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. He does not know what he has done and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be Commander in Chief but I want more than that. I plan to lead a campaign to overthrow Allende, I believe it will take around a month or so to succeed and once in power I will end civilian rule. I intend to rule for a long time displaying power and strength. I will not take any non sense from citizens and will set up camps for any who oppose. I am quite excited for the day my plan prevails and I am the President of Chile.
Essential Question
Do the people have a right to riot and protest a new film that puts their brutal dictator in a good light?
