Media Matters

News from the Dutch Fork High School Media Center

Have you seen our new collaboration space?

You may have noticed lots of changes in our space throughout the course of the school year. We wanted a collaborative learning space for students- and thanks to suggestions and design plans from Ms. Suarez's class, we put the changes in motion. We have new furniture, a refreshed collection, and plenty of space for your students to try new things and work together.

Improvements include:

Small group work spaces

Presentation area

Green screen: add creativity to student work

MacBook and iMac for device flexibility

MakerSpace: duct tape and origami crafts

Be on the lookout for more changes in the weeks to come.

Encourage your students to collaborate and hold them acccountable. Here's an example rubric.

New! and available for you and your students

ChromeBooks- available for use in media center

iPad stand for filming- available for checkout

Build STEAM on April 30

April 30 is Children's Day/El Dia de los ninos. Incorporate a children's book (with a STEAM-related topic) into the day. Check out this list of TeachingBooks resources or our collection of children's books located in the media center teacher workroom.
