Free Law Clinic for TCC and the Community

*Forum 1 - Wednesday, September 21st from 6-7pm
Topic of Discussion: Citizen’s Civil Rights
Address and identify civil rights. The role of police in regards to those rights. What constitutes the conditions for police to intervene?

*Forum 2 - Wednesday October 19th 7pm-8pm
Topic of Discussion: Navigating Police Interaction
This workshop will address interactions with police, both legally and behaviorally. Subjects of cause, arrest and search and seizure will be addressed. Lastly, helpful tips will be shared on how to handle a situation if cited.

*Forum 3 - Wednesday November 17th @ 6pm – 7pm
Topic of Discussion: What to do when taken into custody?
The law firm will explain how to legally and behaviorally respond and react if found in the situation of being in police custody. In addition, learn ways to interact with authorities when questioned.


*Event forums will take place on the 5th floor of the Norfolk Student Center.

Established in 1997, the Norfolk Campus is in the heart of downtown. The urban campus is strategically located in the cultural, business and theater district of the City of Norfolk. The campus includes the Jeanne and George Roper Performing Arts Center, formerly the historic Loews State Theater, as well as a student center that complements the landscape and includes an outdoor gathering space just off Granby Street.
