Tell Denise ASAP if you would like to help or be a part of the East Elementary float in the Hallsville Christmas parade.

Return your Secret Santa form to Denise (if you want to participate) by November 19th.

RSVP to the Staff Christmas Party by December 1st.

Emergency Drill Procedures

Based on last week's shelter in place drill, we are revising the emergency weather drill and lockdown drill procedures. We will inform you of these new procedures and get you the updated maps at the next staff meeting.

Sweets with Santa

Your team will plan and discuss details for Sweets with Santa on Tuesday during your extra Wacky Wednesday time.

Using QR codes

Mrs. LeBrun's class is using the QR codes that Shannon Page created to listen to books on their iPads. Such a creative way to get students engaged in reading!
RUBIES problem solving

Watch as Ms. Scott's class uses R.U.B.I.E.S. to solve math problems! It's pretty cool to hear them explain what they are thinking! Turn your sound up so you can hear the wonderful things that are happening during their daily problem solving time! Be on the look-out for more information about R.U.B.I.E.S. and training on how to integrate it into your math classroom!

Technology Spotlight

EPIC - Books for Kids App

This app, EPIC - Books for Kids, has been a paid app in the past. Now, it is free for educators! It's easy to sign up and there are a ton of both non-fiction and fiction books available. You can easily change the level of books (by age) offered and the format such as Read to Me, picture books, chapter books, early readers, fact books, etc. This app will give you access to hundreds of high-interest, leveled books for your classroom!

Make A Scene apps

One is free and others are paid apps. These apps allow users to created animated scenes that could be used for math or writing! Sure to be a kid favorite! Look below for more information and how to extend with ScribblePress app!

Extend by adding student scenes into Scribble Press app!

Students can take snapshots of their created scenes in the Make A Scene app and then import their scenes into Scribble Press app ($3.99). There, they can create story problems based on their scenes or even write a book using the scenes they have created! It sounds complicated, but it's not! This is sure to be hit with the kids!
