COORDINATE GEOMETRY

coordinate geometry is the distance between two points , the midpoint of a line joining two points , the mid point of the line joining the points :

[ (X1,Y1) and (X2,Y2) is [1/2(X1+X2),1/2(Y1+Y2) ]

M I D P O I N T

the midpoint formulas works excatly the same way if you need the point that is excatly

halfway between two given points , just average the X-values and the Y-values .

  • its X values is halfway between the 2 X values
  • its Y values is halfway between the 2 Y values -TO CALCULATE IT
  • add both "X" coordinates , divide by 2
add both "Y" coordinates , divide by 2

M= < Xa+Xb , Ya+Yb

THE SLOPE FORMULA

the slope M of the line through the points ( X1,Y1) and ( X2,X2) is given by

M=Y2-Y1
