NURSERY AND GIRLS
BULLETIN NO 2 - AUTUMN TERM 2016
NEWS FROM THE HEADS
I think the theme of this week’s notes should be energy... beginning with the energy being released during the thunder and lightning produced as cold air met warm air over Maidenhead.

First full week completed! And what a busy week it has been.
The girls have enjoyed a range of learning experiences from learning the 3 Little Pigs Story from the wolf’s point of view in Year 2 to writing storm poetry (inspired by last night!) in Year 4.

For our first full week and the topic of “Traditional rhymes and stories “the nursery classes have been talking about “The Enormous Turnip”, printing with turnips and other vegetables and acting out the story. They discovered how to make the colour orange by making the playdough.

Court Circular 2015-16 arrives with families this Friday. As well as sharing news of the massive range of activity that takes place across the year, this issue also contains all the main sports events and tours as well as a Creative Corner. Shortly the online Sports Circular will also be available via the website and this will include all the team reports.
The material is not the work of the editor, but that of the pupils as well as the teaching and coaching staff and it is to them that thanks should be given for providing such a great range of material.
Whilst this issue is a bumper edition, the aim is for it to be fully inclusive so that all can enjoy and share in the activities in which pupils across all the sites have taken part. It is the culmination of a year’s work and we look forward to an equally busy and rewarding year in 2016-17.

PTA
Dear Parents,
A huge thank you to all our helpers, supporters and, of course, the children for helping to make our events so successful. Without the help and support of everyone involved we wouldn’t be able to continue so thank you very much.
However, we continue to need volunteers to run stalls, selling drinks etc, particularly at the upcoming Fireworks Night and Fright Night Disco. Please look out for the volunteer sheet which will be going up in the atrium soon. Even just sparing an hour can be helpful.
MEET THE COMMITTEE
We are a small group of parents and teachers with the aim to raise funds for the benefit of the children at your school. You find out more about us and the roles we hold on the website.
NEW SECRETARY
We urgently need a Secretary to join the PTA to contribute to deciding how to spend funds raised, take the minutes at committee meetings (this is not as scary as it sounds!) and get involved with organising school events. For more information, please contact me on 07793 022828 or pta.ccgs@gmail.com.
Finally, I would like to thank the outgoing Chair of the CCGS PTA, Gail Wheeler, for all her hard work over the last few years. However, I’m delighted that she will still be very involved with the Masquerade Ball next year, which is our biggest fundraiser.

Claires Court Horse Riding Team
Claires Court Horse Riding Team has had considerably success over the last number of years with many of our riders competing at a high level. The team relies on the huge support of committed parents and pupils. Unfortunately are previous parent volunteer Mrs Noone is unable to continue leading this activity for this academic year. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Noone for her support.
We are presently enquiring if there are any parents within the Claires Court Community who are willingly to take on this responsibility or know of anybody else who may have the expertise to lead the team forward for the next academic year.
Please contact mrh@clairescourt.net
