Olive Elementary School
News from Mrs. Bush
Tiger Pride
I am so proud of the Olive Students for their efforts in collecting items for our annual Food Drive. Together, we collected over 2,000 items for the local food pantry as well as to make food baskets for the community Care and Share program. It always amazes me how the Olive families are so giving...even during the busiest and sometimes most difficult time of the year. Thank you for participating and teaching your children about goodness, giving, and helping others in need. Because of us, many benefitted. Thank you for that! Thanks especially to the Student Council and Mrs. Gumm for their hard work in organizing the Food Drive.
Our 2nd graders also collected and made a meaningful donation. They brought in baskets of pet supplies to be given to the local pet shelter. It was clear they understand that our furry friends also need love and care.
PNC Chancellor Dworkin's Visit to Olive
Welcome to 3rd Grade, Miss Taylor
I am pleased to announce the new teacher, who will permanently fill the position that was left after Mrs. Sardeson’s recent retirement. Miss Janelle Taylor will join the Olive Teaching Staff.
Miss Taylor is not new to Olive. She has been working since August as our school Library Assistant. She has done a fabulous job in the Library and has built great relationships with the students already. We look forward to having her in a classroom setting and know she will provide our students with a wonderful learning experience.

Important Reminders
- All parents grades 2-5 would greatly benefit from having a PowerSchool account for each child. This allows for you to see your student's grades and other important information at any time. You can even set up your account to notify you when updates are made. To set up your PowerSchool account, please contact the Olive Office.
- Please have students clean out their backpacks and continue to keep them cleaned out. Remember that toys and unnecessary personal belongings are not to be brought to school. Backpacks should only be used for transporting school work and materials to and from home.
- Breakfast is served daily at school starting at 7:10 am. All students are welcome.
