Integrated Learning

Brrr! It's cold outside! We will be learning about winter clothes, winter sports, penguins, and snow. A few of the books we will read are The Jacket I Wear In The Snow, Tacky the Penguin, and All You Need For A Snowman. A few of the centers include:

  • Ice skating using paper plates
  • Making ice skates
  • Story Map of Tacky the Penguin
  • Penguin addition
  • Initial sound matching penguin code
  • Snowflake patterning
  • Shaving cream snowman

Social Studies

We will be learning all about homes and then move into Community Helpers. We will start by taking a look at the homes we live in. We will read A House is a House for Me and Homes Around the World.

We will begin our study of fabric. We will explore and discuss the origin of fabric as well as different types of fabric.

This month in Spanish we will begin learning the names of basic shapes. Students will learn how to play the game "Shape Train". Ask your child how to say circle in Spanish!

We will continue playing our cooperative coding game. We are working up to the BeeBots making their first appearance in February!
