Reflection Corner: The Presence of the Holy Spirit
Happy Solemnity of the Ascencion!
Listen to Jesus’ final words to his disciples before ascending to His Father, “ You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” ( Acts 1:8)
As Catholics, we acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit. Many, however, have yet to discover His presence in their daily personal experience. This Easter Season offers the invitation to reflect, be open and grateful for the presence of the Spirit in our ordinary daily experiences.
Honoring our Blessed Mother Mary
The Catholic Church dedicates the month of Mary in honor of our Blessed Mother Mary. We nurture our devotion to Mary with the traditional “May Crowning” to honor her as Queen of Heaven and Mother of God. OLM takes this month again as an opportunity to help the children develop a special love for Mary.
Please join us at our school mass and the May Crowning on Wednesday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m.

Clarification on Carnival Points
There has been confusion about the 2-service point requirement for participating in the upcoming carnival. It has been, indeed, a requirement in years past. To answer the questions from parents who have completed their service point requirements at this point, given the lack of clarity in the service point expectations for the carnival, we are going to do the following JUST for this school year:
As we critically need parents' time and support to ensure the success of our last major fundraising this school year, we are expecting everyone to help out in the carnival. If you have completed your service point requirements, you will be credited 5 service points next school year for the 2 service points you are contributing in the carnival this year. We cannot stress enough the importance of everyone's participation in the carnival. We ask that you help us make this year's carnival a huge success by volunteering to help whether you have completed your service hours or not. On the question of penalty for this school year, you will only be penalized if you are unable to complete your 50 (25 for single parent families) service points.
We hope that this clarifies the expectations. Thank you very much.

Service Points
Please do check your service points, if you have not done so yet. It is important that you meet your required points before the end of the school year. Note that parents / families not meeting the required service points will be assessed $500.
You still have time. The School Carnival is coming up. We need lots of volunteers. If interested, please let PTO know as soon as possible. Our kindergarten classes need help in the morning as well. Please let us know if you are able to help them.
You may check the office for other opportunities to earn points. Please be guided accordingly. Thank you very much.
