We received a check this week from the Kroger Rewards Program for $135.70 for the last quarter from our members shopping at Kroger. To date we only have 14 participants. If you have not signed up and have a Kroger card, please do so. There is a brochure in the Narthex explaining how to do this or contact JoAnn or Anna Turner and they will help you. It doesn’t cost you anything but benefits the church.
We invite you to join us on the first Sunday of each month as we visit our sick and shut in members. We meet at the church at 12:45pm and spend a couple of hours enjoying the company of those who can no longer attend. You will reap more than you sow by these visits. Please join us!
Our “Fuel Program” for preparing sack lunches for 20 students at East Preparatory School has resumed and the committee is busy packing lunches for the next couple of months. If you would like to participate in this program by monetary donation or helping pack, please contact Joyce Yates.
Join us for a discussion based Wednesday night class that looks deep into theology for teens. It’s really deep and serves the students that want to think about how their faith intersects with the world. I am currently calling it Details, because..well..it’s the details of our faith.
We have several exciting mission projects in the upcoming months. During the month of October we will collecting underwear/socks for the children at East Preparatory School. They are K-3rd grade and many are from the less fortunate families in our city. A bin has been designated in our Giving Station in the Narthex for your donation.
We celebrate and rejoice for the 10 years of Shannon Dilks’ service as our Minister of Music and wish her well as she leaves us to pursue other adventures. We are sorry to see her and her family go and will miss them!
We had a very enjoyable Women’s event on September 19th and thank everyone who had a part in helping make it so. Our next Share Team meeting is October 17 @ 11AM.
We pray for Vicky Riley (Houston, TX), mother of Brian Riley, who was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer last week. Continue to hold the Rileys in your prayers.
