Happening this week...
We are continuing to prepare for STAAR testing. This week some 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders will be testing. Please check out this link regarding testing procedures next week.
Many classrooms will also be relocated due to the testing. Please make sure students check the room new room locations posted in the cafeteria and collaboration areas before testing begins on Tuesday.
Sixth grade is well into the Reading Challenge. Over 15 books have been submitted at this time. Remember the goal is 600! See below for more details.

Mrs. Carroll- Students will begin our unit project on Architectural/Engineering Design. Select students will be responsible for bringing a box (cereal/shoe box size) for their group’s project on Wednesday (3/29). All other materials will be provided!
Ms. Parker, Ms. Beam: Students will continue to work on their architecture, design, engineering and coding “Sphero Maze” project!
Pre-AP Science ~ Ms. Quisenberry and Ms. Cox
Students will continue learning about Earth’s layers and processes. We’ll be working on rock types and how each are formed. There will be a knowledge check on Earth’s Layers and Rock Types on Wednesday 3/29. Students should have their supplies by Monday 3/27 to begin working on their model projects.

This week we will work on Inherited Traits and Genetics. I will be out of the classroom Tuesday due to STAAR testing, and students will be out Thursday for Math testing. Good luck!

This week we will be wrapping up Unit 5. On Monday, students will write equations to solve problems involving volume of right rectangular prisms. On Tuesday-Thursday, we will review the material learned in Unit 5. There will be a test over Unit 5 on Friday, March 31st.

We’re here! It’s time for our Math STAAR Test! Monday will be a full day of review, while Tuesday and Wednesday will be shortened due to scheduled testing in other grades. We’ve worked hard this year and we are ready! Best of luck!

- Students will continue studying issues in Africa in preparation for a Socratic seminar on Friday.

This week we will be putting the final touches on our “Pixel Painting” projects which will wrap up our acrylic unit. We will begin reviewing procedures for our clay and printmaking unit once we complete our paintings.
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
Please continue to encourage your student to practice nightly. Practice videos for all classes except percussion are still taking place.
Students are preparing for our upcoming contest and then Spring Concert.
