Mrs. Slaten's Class 4th Grade News

September

Math

We will be finishing our Ch. 14 "Geometry". We will then begin Ch. 1 "Place Value". Students will have "My Homework" on an almost nightly basis. It is very important that students have their multiplication/division facts memorized. Parents may wish to buy flashcards. (If you do, please purchase the ones that include the 12's facts.)

Reading

Students should be reading for their fiction book report. Students will create a character "Wanted" poster for their project. Both the report and poster will be due Sept. 30th.

Writing/Grammar

Students are working on their "All About Me" writing projects created from their "Five Things About Me" bags. In grammar, we are working on subjects and predicates.

Spelling

Students will receive their spelling list on Friday and be tested over their words on the next Thursday. Students may practice their cursive handwriting skill by writing their spelling words three times each.

S.S.

Students are studying Missouri History. They are learning about our state's land and resources.

Planners

Students have planners to use to record their daily work and homework assignments. Please check and sign your child's planner each day.
