VETERANS DAY CEREMONIES AT DAVIS RICHMOND

Davis Richmond will be observing Veterans Day on Monday, November 11th with all-school assemblies for our veterans and their families. Richmond’s ceremony will be at 9:00 am while Davis’ ceremony will take place at 2:00pm.

Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and/or blue.

Due to space constraints, we will be limiting our ceremony to our veterans and their families and our students. Have a veteran that you would like to invite? It is not too late, contact our offices to let us know they will be coming.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards will be available on Wednesday, November 13th through Home Access Center (HAC). Click HERE to direct you to HAC log in. Paper copies of report cards will not be sent home.

NEWS FROM THE NURSE

Now that the weather is getting colder and children are wearing hats, please be aware that sharing hats can facilitate the spreading of lice. Please remind your child not to share hats with others. Please continue to be vigilant in checking your children’s heads periodically and treat if you see live bugs or nits close to the scalp. We are happy to help in the health office if you have any problems identifying if lice are present, need treatment instructions, etc.

Flu season has arrived! Please remind your students to use good hand hygiene, cough into their elbow, and dispose of used tissues in the wastebaskets. Please also keep your child home for fever (24 hours fever free without fever reducing medication), severe cough, or vomiting.

MATH MANIA

Thank you to all of our families who were able to attend our Math Mania event at Thompson. We had a great turnout learning about Eureka math, making games and learning math strategies.

RICHMOND INTERMEDIATE NEWS

COGAT TESTING

CogAT Testing will take place for 3rd and 5th graders at Richmond on 11/14, 11/15 and 11/18. 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). The test consists of three short sections, 40-45 minutes each.

The CogAT is not an achievement test. Instead, it measures a student’s reasoning abilities which can facilitate his/her learning and problem-solving. CogAT scores report an individual’s verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning abilities. The test scores may be used to adapt instruction and programs to the needs and abilities of students. Information is also used as a piece of information for student programming such as Academically Talented.

You will receive a report with your child’s performance on these tests in January. We appreciate your support of our academic program and your partnership in facilitating your child’s learning.

Please feel free to contact Mrs. Simoncelli-Bulak, Richmond Principal at (331) 228-2800 or lisa.simoncelli-bulak@d303.org if you have any questions.

SACK LUNCH

November 13th is a sack lunch. If interested in purchasing a lunch, please complete the form here. You can also call Lucy Stromsta in the main office at (331) 228-2800 to place your child’s order. Orders are due on Monday, November 11th.
