Welcome Back, Jr. Oilers

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! On Thursday, we welcomed about 1,360 smiling faces to our halls. It was so great to see new students and those who grew up over the summer! Teachers greeted students in a welcome tunnel that was full of cheers and high fives. It was a wonderful sight to see!

This year, thanks to the Measure Q funds, we have two demonstration classrooms full of 21st Century technology and learning spaces. Each room has movable, collaborative furniture and a Chromebook for every student. There are also large interactive whiteboards and our math demo class will have a magnetic glass wall. Please come see these rooms in person during our Back to School night on September 28.

Below we have highlighted some of the relationship building activities that students and teachers took part in during the first two days of school. It is so important that we all feel a sense of belonging and get to know each other. So much of middle school is finding out who you are and who you want to become. Our Jr. Oilers are going to grow so much in the next 180 school days!

Drop-off and Pick-up Reminders

Please make sure to use 14th Street or Palm Avenue to drop-off and pick-up your child. There are crossing guards on both streets to help out, so either side of those streets are safe. Please make sure your child uses a crosswalk at all times.

The back parking lot is not a safe area for student walkways and therefore is not a drop-off and pick-up location. Thank you.
