Greetings: New Principal Gina Owens
Get to know me
I am so excited to be reaching out to you as your new Principal at Frontier Elementary. I could not be more thankful for this opportunity to be part of this incredible staff and school. I am very much looking forward to meeting you in the near future.
I grew up in western Pennsylvania, in a small town near Punxsutawney (location of Groundhog’s Day) where I met my high school sweetheart that I have been with since I was 15 years old. We have been together for 24 years and married for 14 years and have two high energy boys, Xavier (8) and Kyuss (4). We moved to Florida in 2004 after a short one year stop in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Through the course of my career, I have worked as a teacher of students with Varying Exceptionalities, teacher of students with Emotional Behavioral Disorder for grades 4th and 5th, 5th grade teacher and even taught kindergarten. I was an instructional staff developer for the elementary mathematics department. The past 6 years, I have served as the assistant principal position at Belcher Elementary.
Looking forward, my goal is to work collaboratively to ensure that all scholars are provided with a relevant, rigorous and standards-based education. By partnering with families, I have no doubt we will help our scholars meet the high expectations both in academics and behaviorally. I am so excited to meet each and every one of you and begin this new and exciting journey together. I look forward to maintaining a strong and positive school climate with you, that focuses on our student’s successes.
If you have any questions, concerns or good things to share, my door is always open and I am just a phone call away. Please do not hesitate to stop by or call. Your input is truly valued.
