Fall Break Projects
If you have cleaning projects that need attention over fall break, please let David know. The crew will be busy cutting down the ornamental grass around the building, doing trim painting, and ensuring the continued excellent condition of our building.
RLT/MLT
On Oct 17th the RLT/MLT team will met again at ASC. We will complete further work in preparation for ILEARN. RLT/MLT members representing grades K-2 will not need to attend.
ILEARN Resources
Below is an announcement from DOE about ILEARN resources. It is crucial that we have a positive attitude about this assessment, make sure we are asking our students to apply their skill set, and we use all the ILEARN resources provided all year long. Dana Hartzell and Wendy Simmons were part of a team that worked on the continuing development of ILEARN materials this week.
Additional ILEARN Resources Available Monday, October 1
The Office of Student Assessment will post additional resources to the ILEARN website and the Indiana Assessment Portal on Monday, October 1. Educators can access new and updated resources, including the final test blueprints and range performance level descriptors for grades three through eight, assorted guidance documents (e.g., scheduling and timing, updated rescore request process), and an updated FAQInteresting Numbers

The Little Things
The last few weeks, I have noticed all the ‘little things’ that our support staff does to encourage students. Below are some examples.
-A staff member was talking to a student about their intervention program as they were walking to the bus. They offered words of encouragement, a smile, and a high five.
-A staff member baked a birthday cake for a student who likely never received one from their family.
-A staff member stepped in to help out with an escalated student to offer them 1:1 assistance when they needed the additional help.
-A staff member gave a student a high five while walking in the hallway at the beginning of the day.
-A staff member was sitting in the hallway trying to reassure a child that was going through an emotionally tough time.
Sometimes these little acts are unnoticed or underappreciated. Please know that every staff member has the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.
