A message from Mr Netzer
Hello Skyview Families,
We would like to thank you for your continued support as we navigate this unprecedented school year. We know that there have been many sacrifices that you have made in order to help us keep our doors open, and I assure you that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I know that many of you have made difficult decisions to adapt or forgo typical holiday traditions. Thank you.
As you are likely aware, Skyview, along with other schools in our district, are continually experiencing the ebb and flow of students and staff moving in and out of quarantines due to exposures typically outside our school. We appreciate your help and understanding if you are a family who is experiencing one of these quarantines. With this in mind, we would like to remind you all that if your child is quarantined due to COVID-19 exposure, and if they are feeling well, your child is expected to learn remotely so as to avoid absences from school. Please work with your child’s teacher to make sure you have appropriate materials and technology as well as daily schedules for logging on via Google Meet.
Alternatively, we would like to remind families that remote learning is reserved solely for students who are quarantined due to COVID-19 exposure. Our staff already have many added demands and responsibilities on their plates this year, and I cannot ask them to provide a second mode of instruction for scenarios that would typically be considered an excused absence. If your child is unable to be at school for any other reason, they will be allowed an additional day and a half to complete missing assignments per district policy. Thank you for your understanding.
It is so hard for me to believe that we have only one more week before we begin our two week winter break (December 19 through January 4). I am so greatly appreciative of all of our families at Skyview and the support you continue to provide.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Evan Netzer
Skyview Principal
