STAAR Scores are in and Secondary Principal Katie Doughty and Elementary Principal Cassie Satterwhite gave an update of Accountability during the Superintendent's Report.
We still have room for improvement, but we continue to make progress in our systems to allow us to gather data to inspire our efforts. I truly believe that the results of this test does not define the quality of our staff and students. However, we will continue to refine our efforts and not make excuses, but COVID absenteeism did play a huge part in disrupting our progress in 20-21.

We are now at the point where HVAC, Electrical and Lighting will be dispatched for an upgrade as the renovation to this community relic continues. Any Grapeland Community donations to the school for this project will be heartily and readily accepted.
Kevin Watts from The City of Grapeland was invited to speak to us about water Retention issues and the school District will be entering a coalition with the City to work to address some issues that can be improved immediately to help retain water during heavy rains.
Compensation Plan for 21-22
It was recommended to The Board that all teaching staff receive their step raises for 21-22.
A 3% raise from the midpoint was proposed for all eligible Administrator/Director Contracts. (Excluding new employees who have already received a negotiated contract.)
A proposal has been made to move coaches contracts from 187 day contracts to 197 day contracts. UIL has allowed more interaction with student-athletes to prepare them for Fall competition and we would like to compensate the coaches for this time.
