James (Jim) McAlhaney
We welcome Jim McAlhaney to our Global Perspectives in Ethics Team -- Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. He is originally from Charleston, South Carolina and presently lives in Indian Trail, North Carolina. He earned an M.S. degree in Guidance & Counseling and a M.A. in Religion. He has been working in higher education for over 20 years and teaches Psychology and Religion at South Piedmont Community College. He also leads Mindfulness Meditation sessions for staff and students and is an avid runner -- completing 38 full marathons including the Boston Marathon. He is excited to become a Bulldog and is looking forward to getting to know all his students -- in and outside of the classroom.

Aleah Cornett
Aleah Cornett is a veteran educator at Wingate and joins us again for Global Perspectives in Scripture Tuesday and Thursdays mid-day. She graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Masters in Religious Studies. She brings with her some great 'hands on' experience to share with students: she spent two summers working on an archeological dig in Jerusalem as a field recorder (e.g., recording all the artifacts that were unearthed each season). Her love of teaching overflows into her classes -- last semester her students enjoyed creating 'escape rooms' as a way of engaging and learning in a virtual classroom. Aleah also works part time at the Concord library in nearby Cabarrus County and enjoy reading, sewing, and spending time with my nieces and nephews in her spare time.
