Texting, gramming, Roblox, Minecraft, TikTok, YouTube. Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online. (Not an easy task when most of them know more about it than we do!)

Join us for a virtual Family Tech Talk presentation with an Internet safety expert from Trend Micro, who will share the latest trends, give advice on how to help your child use the Internet responsibly, and answer parent questions in a Q&A session. The Zoom event will be on Tuesday, May 10 at 7:00 PM.

We’ll discuss what our children are doing online—and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. We’ll also cover privacy and security issues, how to encourage responsible Internet use, and even more.

In addition to learning some helpful tips, you could win a Trend Micro Internet security product! Five copies of Trend Micro Maximum Security will be raffled off to families attending the event and a unique code will be issued during the presentation for your child to be entered for prizes at VES!

Looking Ahead to Dress Code 2022-2023

Since Hurricane Laura, I have been extremely laxed in our dress code compliance to allow our community time to focus on more important things and not fret over dress code. I've allowed our teachers to have this same mindset. However, now that we are nearly 2 years post Laura, it is time for us to get back to being fully compliant with the CPSB Dress Code and Student Code of Conduct. I'm notifying all parents early and throughout the summer so that you have extra time to purchase what is needed. You will receive several reminders throughout the summer. Uniform compliance checks will begin the first day of school and the code of conduct will be followed when a dress code infraction occurs. We want to do everything we can to prevent dress code violations. If you have a financial need, please email Mrs. Haley and she will do her very best to assist your student. Here are the dress code expectations to follow:
