Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be after school and during the evenings on September 18 and 20. Please use this link to sign up for a time. Spiritwear is here!

The PTA is now taking orders for Hawthorne Spiritwear. You can purchase your Hawthorne shirts, hoodies, pants, and blankets online until September 7th. These make great holiday and birthday presents for Hawthorne students!

Morning Running Club

When: Every Monday and Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. starting Wednesday, September 5th - November 14th.


What: Running club is meant for students to get some exercise before school. Students are working towards completing a marathon which is 132 laps around the track or as many laps as they can during the running club season.



Where: Students will meet at door 13 by the stairs, outside of the gym. We will be running outside on the Hawthorne track.


Who: All Hawthorne students are welcome to attend running club. Students can show up and they will receive a running card that they will use to track their laps.


Other Details: In the case of a rain out, running club will be cancelled for that day. Mr. Q, PE teacher, will post cancellations on the Hawthorne Elementary School PTA facebook page as soon as possible. Rain outs will not be made up in the gym. Lastly, parents are welcome to help out and mark laps and cheer on the students.

Homework Club and Snack Schedule

Our Homework Club will be starting up again! This is an afterschool tutoring club for our students who are learning English. We are in need of snack donations for Homework Club. To sign up to donate snacks, click here.

Lunch hour is 12:00-1:00

The lunch hour for students (and staff) will be 12:00-1:00 this year. (This is a change from last year, which was 12:15-1:15.)


12:00-12:30: All Day Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd graders eat lunch

12:30-1:00: All Day Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd graders have recess


12:00-12:30: 3rd, 4th, 5th graders have recess
