- Thank you to Robin Polack and her son Landon for the Free Little Library in front of the school. This is available to all of our Gates Mills families to exchange books for our elementary aged students. If you haven't already done so, feel free to share a book, take a book, and enjoy some reading with your children!
GMS Little Free Library
Gates Mills Elementary School has a Little Free Library! A Little Free Library is a take a book, return a book, free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries. If you are cleaning out books at home, please consider donating them to our little free library. You may take or place books inside the Little Free Library, which is located outdoors in front of the school building, at any time. No Library Card needed!
The Little Free Library is a registered nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world. The Little Free Library movement has grown tremendously – our Little Free Library is just one of over 60,000 similar Little Free Libraries all over the world.
Landon Polack, a Mayfield High School student, and former Gates Mills Elementary Student ordered, assembled, painted and stocked our little library. Several years ago, Landon volunteered to help build and paint Little Free Libraries for a Cleveland neighborhood. This led to the idea of donating a library to Gates Mills Elementary School to share his love of reading. Landon hopes to donate additional Little Free Libraries in the future.
