Student of the Month - Liberty Harris
Liberty is a power house! Since coming back to GWHS from Ogden Online she has worked hard to stay caught up and has passed every class. She also goes out of her way to help other students (such as her cousins or friends) to try and push them to success. Liberty is unwilling to let anything get in the way of her education and she deserves to be recognized for all her hard work.
Liberty is modest about her school performance and is willing to say only that she has “done alright” in school. She says that it’s best and easiest to attend classes, do the work then and there and not have to worry about it outside of class. She has a “just do it” commitment to her school responsibilities.
Liberty is intelligent, idealistic, sarcastic, and she has a wicked sense of humor. Liberty enjoys Art and Language Arts classes; she likes to read (she’s currently revisiting the Harry Potter books), write and draw. Below is a drawing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg she did. When asked what inspired her to draw RBG, she immediately and enthusiastically said, “Because she has done literally more than anyone else for women’s rights. She spent her whole life fighting for women’s rights, literally until she died.”
After graduation Liberty plans to go to school in SLC for mortuary science.
