Why did the U.S. involve itself in the Vietnam Conflict?
In the 60's the U.S. was obsessed with stopping the spread of communism. Vietnam was about to convert to communism, so the U.S. took action and marched the troops over to Vietnam to stop the spread.
How did the Vietnam Conflict affect the political and social climate of the U.S.?
The conflict caused students in schools to protest against the conflict because they didn't believe that the U.S. was apart of the problem in Vietnam. The political leaders had to call troops in to stop the rioters and protesters from getting violent.
Nixon ended the war by retreating out of Vietnam, and by signing a peace treaty with Vietnam in Paris.
