Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,
Let me start by thanking all the family members that were able to join us for our first field trip and trick-or-treat street! We could not have these amazing additions to your child’s education without your support. I would also like to thank the PTO and other parent volunteers that helped with decorating and treats for the event.
We are excited to announce that we will be working with Cognia to receive an accreditation for our program. Along with submitting evidence for each of their standards, ECE professionals will also be conduction classroom observations this month. Another part of the accreditation process is to interview families. If you are interested in joining this conversation on Monday, November 7th at 3:00, please stop by the office for more information. At the conclusion of their visit, we will receive feedback on our areas of strength and next steps to make our program even better. I will be sharing this information out to families in the coming months.

Events
Book Bags
This month, classrooms will start to visit the school’s library once a week to check out a book. Parents should return both the book and the bag so students can receive a new book each week. This is a great way to get children excited about reading and a good way to get them used to being responsible and returning the book weekly.
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
Next P.T.O. meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at 8:15am & 12:15pm. Please stop by and learn more about how parents can support the school. This month, we will be preparing for a visit from Santa.
Late Start Days
As we get into the colder, snowy months, the district may call for a “Late Start.” If a late start is decided, parents will receive an automated announcement from WPS. If a late start day is called for the district, the morning session will be cancelled for that day. Afternoon session will have a normal school day.
Attendance Matters
Although some absences are unavoidable, it is important that students attend school as often as possible. Preschool is a great time to start building a habit of good attendance. Please note that we are allowing days for students to be absent for illness and do not want families to send children to school sick. Students are asked to stay home if they are experiencing any cold/flu like symptoms. We will be celebrating all students that have perfect attendance each month. A small gift will be given to each student that has attended school 100% of the days for each month.
