Be sure to check out all of the sections of the class especially syllabus, resources, people, modules, and discussions.
I am here to help in any way that I can, just ask.
Good luck!!
Attendance Policy
You are expected to have completed your assignments on time, to be prepared for class, and to actively participate in class discussions. See guidelines for participation and meaningful responses. There will also be weekly learning team discussion assignments that are part of your class participation points each week. There will also be some weeks that have individual discussion assignments that are part of your class participation points for that week. You will also lose participation points if you post your individual discussion responses all on Fridays.
College of Education Attendance Policy: You are required to log into the class site 5/7 days each week as well as be active in the discussion board. You must read all of the class postings. If you do not fulfill this requirement, you will lose participation points each week.
Due Date for Discussion Board Main Posts
This includes the learning team Discussion Questions and any individual Discussion Questions.
Due Date for Discussion Board Response Posts
This includes the two meaningful individual responses to the learning team responses and the individual weekly reflection posts. You should not make both of your meaningful individual responses on Fridays as other students will not have time to respond to your posts.
Due Date for Individual Course Assignments
This includes the Case Study assignment, STS Lesson Plan and Reflection assignment, and the Grant Proposal assignment.
Wednesdays at noon
Fridays at noon
Sundays at midnight in LiveText
The quality of the main posts and response posts determines your participation grade.
See the meaningful response guidelines and the weekly participation evaluation rubric for individual and learning team assignments.
All times are Eastern Time.
No late work will be accepted. No handwritten work will be accepted. Please note the course syllabus is a general outline only and is tentative in nature.
Students will be expected to complete and submit all required assignments on time. Improvement is expected on each ensuing assignment. Implementation and incorporation of creativity, relevance, and experimental learning is also expected to manifest itself in the work of the student. Class participation is expected and is rewarded. Rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated. Active participation means that every student prepares for the class by reading the assigned materials and that each student actively participates in discussions and activities conducted during class.
