Gingerbread Breakout
All week, we have read many different gingerbread books. We discussed the similarities and differences of the various books and we look forward to reading a few more next week. Today, we got to experience a fun activity in the library revolving around the story Gingerbread Friends. In this story, the gingerbread baby wants to find some friends. As a class, we worked in teams to solve puzzles in order to unlock the next clue. In the end, we found a snowman to be his friend in the final box. Each student got to keep a snowman eraser from the activity.
6th Grade Learning Buddies
During 6th Grade Learning Buddies, we did a Gingerbread Man Science Experiment! We wondered why the Gingerbread Cookies were all so afraid to go in the river. We drew what the gingerbread man looked like before he got wet. Then, we predicted what he would look like after being placed in water. After that, we observed what happened when we put a gingerbread cookie in water, recorded our observations, and discussed why the Gingerbread Cookies did not swim across the river themselves.
