What's Going On In The World Of #FAPBG-End-of-Year Edition

Online Registration

The Online Annual Registration Update is available online and awaiting responses from families who indicated their intent to return to Franklin for the 2018-19 school year. The online annual registration update is a required step in securing your child's seat for the 2018-19 school year.

How do you get started?

Visit or click on the link below to sign in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. From the Parent Portal:

  1. Select the student you wish to register along the top
  2. Select the InfoSnap 18-19 Student Registration
  3. Enter the child's date of birth

Middle School Course Requests

All new and returning middle school students must complete their elective course selections through PowerSchool. The paper course request form will be kept on file as backup documentation. Please follow the directions below to complete this process.

  1. From the PowerSchool Portal page, please enter the Username and Password that is associated with your PowerSchool account. This feature can be accessed from both the Parent and Student accounts.
  2. After entering your Username and Password, you will be directed to the Home Screen. From this screen, select the Class Registration link on the left-hand side.
  3. The Class Registration page provides information for each Course Category. Within the ELECTIVE Course Category, students are required to make a course request. Students will need to click on the PENCIL icon to view the options and make a decision on which courses the student would like to request.
  4. After selecting the PENCIL icon, students will see a list of electives available for their grade level. Students must select 3 courses that they would prefer to take for their 18-19 elective choices.
  5. After selecting three course requests within the category, which will be reflected by a green check mark on the right-hand side of the category, students can click ‘Submit’ to save and send their requests.

Please note

-Course requests are just that, requests, and academic scheduling needs will always take precedent over student elective preferences.

-Core academic courses will be scheduled based on student test scores and teacher recommendations. All students reflect a regular course load at this time. Advanced designations will be determined by administration and will be applied after electives choices have been submitted.

-Please email Ms. Ellis,, with any questions.

Service Hours Due June 30th

Please remember that all service hours must be completed by June 30th. Families that fail to satisfy this annual requirement will be notified and may be asked not to return for the following year. Students will also be restricted from extracurricular activities. We will have lots of jobs around campus to be done once school lets out for the summer, so please contact Mrs. Greenman or Mrs. Frank to sign up!

Summer Learning

The Summer Slide is proven to be a setback for many students but can be avoided with continued academic focus intertwined with summer fun! This summer's learning packets are attached to this newsletter. Please take a look at the summer learning packets below. Let's keep the learning going and make sure our students have the best start to next year!

Supply Lists

2018-2019 Supply Lists are available below. Please be sure to bring your child's supplies to Meet the Teacher so they do not have to bring them on the first day of school.

Admin. Change

Assistant Principal, Mrs. Muzzillo, is no longer with the school. As we finalize details regarding our new Assistant Principal, please direct all admin. inquiries to myself and/or Mr. Ospina. If you had outstanding issues with which Mrs. Muzzillo had been assisting, please contact me so I can ensure everything is resolved correctly.
