SNAP CODES

Please remember to update your information once the district sends out the information. You will be receiving an email with your child's snap code. This information must be updated yearly so that we have the most current emergency information. Please make sure to check names for people who can pick up your child, as well as phones numbers of all parents or guardians. If you are not able to do this prior to Maze Day, we will be able to help you out. Remember you need to have an email in order to update the information.

WELCOME to our new Faculty

We have several new faculty members this year and we want to welcome them all. Below are some bios for some of them. Not included are the following:

3rd-5th Maria Sanchez will be teaching our newcomer class.

New School Psychologist is Kimberly Sullivan

TK Laci Rojas

My career goal has always involved working with children and over the past five years, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills that have prepared me to teach Transitional Kindergarten at this amazing school! I am proud to say that I have graduated from the California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in math. During my time at Fresno State I also had the opportunity to take Child Development courses that provided me with hands-on experience and knowledge of the current processes and procedures of guiding and teaching young children. Along with teaching I love taking trips to the beach, going to amusement parks, going to the movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends! I am thrilled to help your child prepare for Kindergarten and I can't wait to get to know you and your child.

First Grade: Ms. Maresha Johnson

My name is Maresha Johnson, and I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I have a Master’s Degree in Education from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University. For over 20 years, I have taught children in the United States of America, Uganda, Liberia, and Ghana. I believe our classroom is a global laboratory of learning where we explore academic subjects through real-world application.

As a lifelong learner, I hope to inspire your children to be lifelong learners. I am grateful to be a part of Taft Community School and looking forward to working with students and parents throughout our 1st Grade adventure.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and working on my computer coding skills.

Second Grade: Ms. Grecia Ruiz

My name is Grecia Alejandra Ruiz. I’m so excited to join the team here at Taft Community. Im originally from Salinas, California. I moved to San Francisco 11 years ago and began my teaching journey at San Francisco Unified School District. While at SFUSD, I worked at a Spanish Immersion School. I have two years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and six years as a third grade teacher. Given my years of experience in these grade levels, I’m excited to embark on a new journey as a second grade teacher at Taft. With this in mind, I look forward to this new chapter in my teaching career and thrilled to embrace this new school community with open arms.

Third Grade: Jorge Egido Gil

My name is Jorge and I am a Spanish teacher from Spain where I grew up. I studied to become an Elementary teacher. This is my second year with the Redwood City School District, before that, I worked in Spain for 9 years. I am a very active teacher who enjoys teaching my students using different kinds of methodologies where learners can build their own knowledge and experiences. I try to be in touch with the families during the school year, because students need all our support.

I am a very sporty person who likes practicing different sports like soccer, tennis and surfing. I also like traveling and meeting new people to learn about different cultures.

First/ Second Grade Newcomer Class: Ms. Maiwes Alarcón Amador

The first time I worked in a school as a sports instructor, I knew that I wanted to be a primary school teacher. I am passionate about my work, teaching and motivating my students, making them smile every day. I am specialized in teaching languages, which I consider an essential requirement to function in today's society. My didactic proposal is playful and dynamic.
