First off, please be sure to have registered for your ParentVue account, this will be your most up to date information regarding your student's academic progress. Secondly, connect with your student's teachers. Send an email when you have questions or to simply check on your student. Finally, ask your student(s) questions about their classes, have them provide you information on deadlines or upcoming events in class. Shout Outs (Academic, Activities, Athletics)

This week in Athletics

McKay's athletics are continuing to experience success this fall. This past week saw many best performances.

First off, our Cross Country teams experienced a ton of success this week with many athletes running personal bests. The Boys cross country saw their first overall victory.

Our Soccer programs are welcoming the start of league play this week with respective games versus Corvallis and Crescent Valley.

We would like to congratulate Abdoulie Jallow for being named player of the week by the Salem Sports and Breakfast Club.

The Royal Scots volleyball team ended an already successful start of the week with another victory. The girls began the week with a victory against Gresham High School, ending their week with another win against Woodburn High. Congratulations!

Finally, our Football team took a trip to Nevada for a non-league game. (Pictures Below) They return to action this week at Crescent Valley, before returning home for 3 consecutive home games.

Thank you all for your continued support, Go Scots!

Counseling Corner

ParentVue

Parentvue: All parents should have access to parentvue. If you do not have access, please call the main office and ask to speak with someone that can help you access it. Parentvue is very useful to check grades, attendance, and more.

McKay High School Family Night

This upcoming Monday October 3 from 6 -- 7:30, we will be hosting a Family Night. Parents of our 9th and 10th graders are welcome to come in and learn about graduation and what it takes for students to be successful at McKay High School.

Re-take Picture Day (November 2nd)

You have the ability to order pictures online by visiting dorianstudio.com and searching for your school’s name. Your online order can be placed before and up to four (4) days after picture day.

Questions? Call our Customer Advocate Department at (800) 826-3535.

Parental Internet Control

Parents will have the ability to control their student’s internet usage outside of school hours. Student devices are monitored through the district’s internet filter 24/7, but parents can block additional web sites before and after school if they choose. Through the app, parents can view the top five sites visited in each of the following categories over the past day, week, two weeks or month. Parents can view a time-stamped list of every web site their child has accessed or attempted to access over the last month, and how much time they spent on that site. If the student was blocked from viewing a page by the district’s web filter, the list will indicate it.
