Ella Strong
Some of you are aware, one of our 8th Graders, Ella Ellison, is again fighting the battle of cancer. Ella was diagnosed with osteosarcoma while in the 6th grade here at MMS. Her cancer has returned and she is once again going through treatments and fighting osteosarcoma. We have had many reach out wanting to support Ella and her family through this very difficult time. For updates on Ella's progress you can follow #EllaStrong on Facebook.

From PTO: We Need Your Support
Luminary Chair:
Need someone to run our ONLY fundraiser.
There is a committee of 4 fantastic people already in place who know what is going on.
90% of the work is from your home.
It only takes 4 hours to assemble the luminaries with help of parents and NJHS kids.
Street Captains picked up the luminaries and delivered them this year.
Raises approx $10,000 for the Middle School.
World's easiest fundraiser.
School Supply Chair:
SUPER EASY!
Early Spring: Gather supply lists from teachers and send lists to Supply Kit Company for pricing
May - Send order link to MMS to include in newsletters
Early August - Sort kits by grade and distribute at Packet Pickup
This is an extremely important job.
Just a PSA to say that the teachers/staff at MMS are amazing human beings who love and help our children every day and we would like to keep supporting them. Please volunteer!
Please email langecombs3@gmail.com for more information or to volunteer.
Cincinnati Zoo Rain Barrel Project
The MMS 5th Graders have been hard at work for the last month, painting their rain barrel for the Cincinnati Zoo Rain Barrel Art Project.
Each year the Cincinnati Zoo, in partnership with Saving Local Waters, sponsors a rain barrel design competition. This year, the fifth grade artists at MMS submitted a winning design and received a barrel to paint during their 5th grade art class! The submission, "Inside the Hive" by Elsie Thomas, Lily Wikins, and Teddy McFarland (pictured above) was chosen as a winner by the zoo. All fifth grade art students have helped paint the winning design onto the barrel.
Barrels will be on display at the zoo from March 29 – April 27th.
Barrels are auctioned off over the month of April
The auction will start April 18th at 10 am and will close on April 28th at 10am. Once available the auction site can be found here, https://www.savelocalwaters.org/auction.html. The money raised from the auction goes towards environmental education at SaveLocalWaters.org and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
