McKinley Minute
April 27th
Welcome to week 6 of online learning
Today the sun is shining and it is beautiful day!!! Take a moment to get outside and enjoy the day. Our students continue to do an amazing job with their online class work and I am so proud of each of our Skippers and all of the parents that are supporting them!
Keep up the great work team!
Mrs. Fischer
The McKinley staff and administrative team is as hopeful as the students and their parents that we will be able to celebrate our fifth graders with the traditional clap out. At this time we need to wait to hear what will be allowed by our governor and village leaders. We are excited to celebrate, but the safety of our students and parents is our first priority. I will keep everyone posted as I receive more information about how we can progress and give our students the best experience possible with the rules that are in place.
Tech Wednesday
If any student has issues with their chromebook during our online learning they may bring their chromebook to Harding high School to have it repaired. The tech team will be available to assist our students every Wed. from 9-12. Meet in the back of the building near the student entrance.
At this time we are cancelling our May date for Kindergarten screening. We will keep you posted as we gather more details to reschedule this event.
Congratulations to the following students for earning lunch with the principal!
Tuesday, April 28th at noon : Olivia Baressi, Andrew Miller and Kelsey McKinney
Thursday April 30th at noon: Rosalie Mussig, Asher Haley, Victoria Lopez Soto
Keep up the GREAT work with your online learning! Look for my e mail to attend the Google Hangout!
ONLINE INSTRUCTION
Our McKinley students continue to impress us with their dedication and hard work in regards to their online instruction! The last assignments for the school year will be posted on May 15th. That will give time to both teachers and students to complete all their work before the end of the school year. Teachers will continue to support students, provide instruction and give guidance as we wrap the school year up!
Our wonderful lunch team has been providing meals for our students. Students that live in the village are able to receive 5 lunches, 5 breakfasts, snacks and a half gallon of milk! Curbside pick up is available on Tues. and Thurs. from 11-1 each week. Last week we served 1,400 meals! Even during this difficult time we see such heartwarming things being done.
